What to Expect during Your Next Office Furniture Purchase

When you’re ready to talk about furniture for your office – whether building, expanding, remodeling, consolidating, reconfiguring or simply updating the old stuff – the Furniture team at Perry Office Plus can help make it a pretty painless experience.  Here are the highlights of how a typical project will flow.

What to Expect at Your Next Furniture Purchase

Phase 1: Initial Consultation

You don’t have to be an expert! We’re here for you. One of our Furniture Consultants will meet you at your office to start the conversation. We start by asking a lot of questions.

Some questions you can expect from us might be:

  • Do you want to use any of your existing furniture or start fresh? You may have certain desks, chairs, shelves, cubicles, lounge seating, break room furniture or even file cabinets you need to hang on to.
  • If you’re building or remodeling, are you working with an architect or designer? If you are, we can coordinate with this person on the space planning and finish selections.
  • When do you need the furniture installed? if there is a short deadline, we need to take this into account when selecting furniture.
  • What is the function of the room(s) that needs furniture?
  • What do you like about your current furniture – and most telling, what don’t you like about it?
  • If possible, we will want to take measurements of the room(s).

Phase 2: Project Planning

We will follow up with quotes, drawings and images via email; you can expect lots of options from us. It’s not unusual to have several revisions on drawings and quotes prior to finalizing the furniture list. We want to get your space just right before we order your furniture. Depending on the scope of the project, we may meet again in person one or two more times to discuss details and pick finishes.

Phase 3: Order Tracking

When final furniture selections have been made, quotes are approved and the order has been processed, we manage your project internally and keep you updated about estimated delivery dates. The timeline can vary from 1 week for stock office furniture (limited options) but for orders direct from manufacturers such as HON, Allsteel, and others, lead times are 4-6 weeks. This is the bulk of what we do. Rarely, specialty fabrics can take up to 10 weeks.

Phase 4: Delivery & Installation

When your furniture arrives in our warehouse – right here in Temple, Texas – we’ll contact you to schedule delivery. We typically won’t schedule a specific delivery time, but all deliveries are done during business hours.

The space should be cleared and ready for the new furniture prior to our arrival. Our trained furniture installers will bring all the products inside and assemble everything.  They will also haul away all debris, trash and boxes. When they leave, the space will be clean and ready for you to move in!

Phase 5: Follow Up & Warranty

If there are any issues at time of delivery, our crew will make a note and it will be repaired or replaced right away. Many of our products carry great warranties and we are happy to be the servicing dealer for those items if there are any issues at a later date. Just call us and we’ll work with the manufacturer to handle any needed repairs or replacements.

That’s It!

So when you’re ready to talk about furniture for your office, reach out to the Furniture team at Perry Office Plus. We’re here to get your office looking great and get you the furniture products that will make you productive and happy!
